Ralph Lazo fue un individuo extraordinario nacido en Los Ángeles, California, el 3 de noviembre de 1924. De ascendencia mexicano-irlandesa, dejó una huella significativa en la historia al unirse voluntariamente a sus amigos japoneses estadounidenses en el campo de internamiento de Manzanar durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial a pesar de no siendo él mismo de ascendencia japonesa. Su solidaridad y compasión resaltaron su profundo compromiso con la justicia y la amistad. Después de la guerra, Lazo sirvió en el ejército de los EE. UU. y siguió una carrera en educación y trabajo social. Falleció el 1 de enero de 1992 y es recordado por su notable empatía y valentía al enfrentarse a la injusticia.

Ralph Lazo was an extraordinary individual born in Los Angeles, California, on November 3, 1924. Of Mexican-Irish descent, he made a significant mark in history by voluntarily joining his Japanese American friends in the Manzanar internment camp during World War II despite not being of Japanese descent himself. His solidarity and compassion highlighted his deep commitment to justice and friendship. After the war, Lazo served in the U.S. Army and pursued a career in education and social work. He passed away on January 1, 1992, and is remembered for his remarkable empathy and courage in standing against injustice.

Dolores Huerta es una reconocida líder sindical mexicano-estadounidense y activista de derechos civiles, nacida el 10 de abril de 1930 en Dawson, Nuevo México. Ella cofundó la Asociación Nacional de Trabajadores Agrícolas junto con César Chávez, y luego se convirtió en United Farm Workers (UFW). Los incansables esfuerzos de Huerta mejoraron significativamente las condiciones laborales de los trabajadores agrícolas. Hábil negociadora y organizadora, acuñó la famosa frase "Sí, se puede". El activismo de Huerta se extendió a los derechos de las mujeres y los inmigrantes, convirtiéndola en una figura fundamental en múltiples movimientos por la justicia social. Su legado continúa inspirando a generaciones en la lucha por la igualdad y la justicia.
