On July 21, 2022, former Springdale High School graduates and Law and Public Academy Completers, Daniela Flores and Mark Solis, graduated from the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy and will be working as officers with the Springdale Police Department once they complete their field training. The Oklahoma City Thunder announced July 19 a former Springdale High School student has been named to the 2022-2023 O’City Crew dance team.
Lena Souvannarath, former co-captain of the Springdale High School dance team, will make her professional debut on the team this season.

Rodney Ellis has been named as the Workforce Training Director for the Springdale Public Schools.
"I am truly honored to be part of the Springdale District leadership team, working towards implementing a vision to merge academics and workforce training skills necessary to enhance and support all CTE career pathways for student success in local and regional business and industry roles across Springdale and Northwest Arkansas."
Ellis began his new role on July 1st saying "this role will allow me to work within the Springdale District developing, enhancing, and strengthening career readiness and industry related skills training needed for student success in business and industry roles."
Ellis was raised in eastern Arkansas on a cotton, rice, and soybean farm. His parents worked both on and off the farm to provide necessary income, demonstrating strong work ethic and values which he strives to incorporate into his life. Ellis worked in aviation and other technical fields for 20 years before getting into education.
"I was blessed to be part of the planning and implementation of one of the first high school industrial maintenance programs in Arkansas at Siloam Springs." said Ellis.

Spartans' have new assistant principal
Springdale Public Schools has named Aaron Tinnin as the new assistant principal for Sonora Middle School.
Tinnin said he feels excited and honored for the opportunity.
"I want to thank Principal Jennings, Dr. Cleveland and the Springdale Public School Board for this opportunity to serve the students and staff at Sonora Middle School," he said,
Tinnin has served as an educator for a decade, all of which has been with Springdale Schools. He previously taught 11th-grade English at Archer Learning Center and sixth-grade English language arts at Don Tyson School of Innovation. Tinnin transitioned to Sonora Middle School after serving for three years as an instructional specialist at Perry Professional Development Center.

Curtis Gladden has been named as the principal at Southwest Junior High.
"I would like to thank Dr. Cleveland and the district team for this tremendous opportunity. I am very honored to be chosen to lead Southwest Junior High School. Springdale School District has been my home for 20 years of my career and I am excited for this new adventure."
Gladden is replacing Cissy Lindley, who took a position as Lead Admin Instructional Specialist for the Springdale School District. Gladden will begin his new role July 1.
Gladden is an Arkansas native and received his undergraduate and masters degrees from the University of Arkansas. He then went on to complete his specialist at Arkansas State University and Doctorate from Arkansas Tech. He started his career as a science teacher and coach and has spent the last 11 years in leadership roles at Mountain Home High school, Central Junior High, Springdale High and most recently as assistant principal at Har-Ber High school.
Curtis is married and has two children who attend Springdale Schools.
Dr. Jared Cleveland, district superintendent, said that Dr. Gladden is a seasoned administrator that is well positioned to continue the great tradition of excellence at Southwest
"He understands the standard of excellence expected in our district due to having served in multiple schools as a teacher and administrator," said Dr. Jared Cleveland, district superintendent.
"Dr. Gladden and the Southwest administration/faculty are poised for continued student academic growth while transitioning to the new facility over the next two academic years."
