terra Lowe has been named an instructional specialist administrator for Springdale Public Schools.
"I would like to thank Dr. Cleveland, Dr. Smith, Mrs. Tisher and Mrs. Fink for giving me the opportunity to work in this role," Lowe said. "I'm excited to work alongside the C&I team and to continue to grow our staff and students in the district."
Lowe will transition from her role as assistant principal of Har-Ber High School to the Title II-funded curriculum and instruction position. She'll work alongside district instructional specialist administrator Cissy Lindley.
"These roles are designed to significantly improve student achievement in a targeted manner," said Dr. Jared Cleveland, Springdale Public Schools superintendent. "Ms. Lowe is uniquely skilled in this area and is looking forward to deeply supporting administrators and teachers in this much-needed mission."
Lowe is a native of West Memphis and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Arts in Teaching in Middle Level Education from the University of Arkansas, she said.
Lowe taught English language arts for middle schoolers in Bentonville and Rogers earlier in her career. She's worked for Springdale Schools for five years and served the district as an instructional facilitator at Helen Tyson Middle School prior to working as the Har-Ber High School assistant principal the last three years.

Ashley Marcum has been named as one of Har-Ber High School's incoming assistant principals.
“I want to thank Dr. Jared Cleveland, the district leadership team and the School Board for this amazing opportunity. I also want to thank Dr. Paul Griep and the administration team at Har-Ber High School,” Marcum said. “I am humbled, honored and very grateful to accept this new role and responsibility supporting teachers, students and families in the Springdale School District. I cannot wait to continue my work at Har-Ber High School as an assistant principal.”
Marcum has worked as the Instructional Facilitator at Har-Ber High School for the last three years. She previously worked as an English teacher at Springdale’s Central Junior High School and at Oakdale Middle School in Rogers.
“She has a remarkable life story that began with little interest in school," Cleveland said. "She understands why students disconnect from traditional education and is devoted to creating an environment where students want to be connected to their learning.”
Marcum holds an educational specialist degree in educational leadership from Arkansas State University, a bachelor's in early childhood education from John Brown University and a master’s in teacher leadership and gifted education from the University of Central Arkansas.

Brett Unger has been named as one of Har-Ber High School's incoming assistant principals.
“I would like to thank Dr. Cleveland, the district leadership team and the School Board for giving me this opportunity to be assistant principal at Har-Ber High School,” Unger said. “I look forward to working with Dr. Griep and his team as we serve the school community and pursue excellence together.”
Unger has served with Springdale Schools since 2005 and has worked at Hellstern Middle School, Har-Ber High School, Lakeside Junior High School and Archer Learning Center. He most recently served for three years as the Sonora Middle School assistant principal. Unger has held positions that include teacher, response to intervention coordinator, alternative learning environment director, coach and instructional facilitator.
Unger has a bachelor's in exercise and sports science from Abilene Christina University in Texas and a master's in educational leadership from Arkansas Tech University.

Har-Ber High School hosted its first annual Pre-Vet Camp for 20 junior high students with 9 current Har-Ber students teaching various veterinary related skills to the participants. A special thank you to Dr. Niki Lunsford and Dr. Michael Lunsford at Lunsford Veterinary Care Center, Madison at Southwest Animal Hospital, and Dr. Valerie Henley at Fayetteville Animal Shelter for giving the participants tours of their facilities.
