CONGRATS to Olivia Rothmeyer of Sonora Elementary, Emily Knoedl of Sonora Middle School, and Amy Jennings of Springdale High School! Ms. Rothmeyer is now a certified Program Manager of the STAR curriculum, supporting elementary students. Ms. Knoedl and Ms. Jennings are now certified Program Managers of the LINKS curriculum, supporting secondary students. The two-year-long certification process involved working with a STAR/LINKS trainer to demonstrate fidelity with implementing essential curricular strategies. Six representatives from the Animal Emergency and Specialty Center of Northwest Arkansas spoke to Har-Ber High School Veterinary Science students on Wednesday. The representatives included certified veterinary assistants, certified veterinary technicians, veterinary nurses, and kennel managers. They presented information about career opportunities at their clinic that employs over 70 people and taught the Har-Ber students how to perform chest compressions for CPR on dogs. The clinic is located in the heart of Springdale on Highway 412. Two of the representatives were graduates from Har-Ber High High School. #SpringdaleFamily

Walmart and Kellogg’s partnered to donate 500 books, snacks and bookmarks to Shaw Elementary School today. Shaw was one of five schools nationwide to receive a Feeding Happiness initiative book donation and the only one in Arkansas. Shaw students were selected to receive the books after reading some 360,000 minutes through the Read Across America Program. #SpringdaleFamily
#SpringdaleFamliy, let's give a shout-out to the Treehouse Pantry! They received a grant from the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance today. The grant provides the needed funds for the Pantry to buy a new freezer. This new freezer will increase the protein capacity for those who need food in our community. Today is Junior Achievement Day at Walker Elementary. Every classroom was visited by one of our community partners who taught students about financial literacy. #SpringdaleFamily
Current and former Central Junior High School staff and students gathered to share memories and to say goodbye to the school’s current building March 14 at a symbolic lights-out ceremony. The 48-year-old school will be destroyed in the coming weeks as students go on to learn in the school’s neighboring, newly developed building. #SpringdaleFamily
