Josh Sisemore has been named the Assistant Director of Technology for Springdale Public Schools

Josh Sisemore has been named the Assistant Director of Technology for Springdale Public Schools. 

“I am grateful for the opportunity and look forward to serving our staff, faculty and students,” Sisemore said.

Sisemore is a Springdale native who attended Lee Elementary School and George and Southwest junior high schools. Always a Bulldog, he graduated in 1999 from Springdale High School.

He’s previously worked for NorthWest Arkansas Community College. Sisemore started with the Springdale Schools Technology Department in November 2013 as an assistant network engineer, later becoming the network engineer in 2018.

“Throughout Josh’s tenure here in Springdale, he has been instrumental in supporting the district's technology initiatives,” said Paul Miller, Springdale Public Schools technology director.

Notable projects Sisemore has accomplished include relocating the district’s data center in 2019 and implementing and upgrading the district phone system to comply with emergency laws, Miller said. He likewise contributed to a significant network recovery following a catastrophic outage over spring break of the 2021-22 school year and has enhanced the district’s current system for the future by upgrading and replacing switches district wide.

“Our team works hard to respond to users and set them up for success in the classroom,” Sisemore said.

The Springdale School Public Schools Technology Department consists of 13 district-level team members who work closely with numerous building technicians throughout the district.

Each is doing great work to provide the best technical tools and experience possible, Miller said.

“We have good people at tech who care about the work we do in Springdale Schools,” Sisemore said.

Sisemore is serious about his focus and how it aligns with district priorities, Miller said.

“He is eager to learn and grow as he assumes more responsibilities within the Technology Department,” Miller said.

One of his goals is to ensure every team member understands their value and how important they are to the work the district accomplishes, Sisemore said.

“We are lucky to have so many talented IT staff members,” he said. “I am grateful that they chose to be here and share their work with the district.”

Sisemore earned a Bachelor of Science in information technology from Western Governors University and is currently working toward a Master of Science in Information Technology through WGU as well. Sisemore likewise holds certifications that include ITIL, CCNA, AWS, A+ and LPI Linux Essentials.

Sisemore has been married to his wife, Amber Sisemore, for 21 years. Amber Sisemore is a dedicated teacher in a neighboring district. The couple have a 12-year-old son.
